Tyneside Speakers Club is a voluntary organisation whose aim is to help people practise and improve their public speaking skills. Potential members do not need to be good at public speaking, they just need to be willing to give it a go.
Membership costs £35 per year, for this members get a Speakers Guide, become members of the Association of Speakers Clubs and are encouraged to attend the twice monthly meetings in Whitley Bay. Practise is what makes for confident public speaking and where better to practise than amongst friends, in a supportive and educational environment.
The Club has been meeting since 1971, there are still a few original members, thankfully there are now members from all generations, genders and backgrounds, united in their aim of helping each other become better public speakers.
